CIRCUS LOVERS
2026
DESIRE PERFORMS WITHOUT A SAFETY NET.
Three performers, three acts of impossible balance. OLEG, MATTHEW and WOODY turn the circus into a theatre of queer desire, risk and devotion.
The circus has always been a place where the extraordinary body is invited to perform.
CIRCUS LOVERS enters that arena and turns it into a theatre of queer desire.
OLEG, MATTHEW and WOODY each perform an act built around balance, control and exposure. Their bodies are strong, trained and apparently confident, yet every gesture contains the possibility of failure.
That instability is essential.
Desire also requires balance: between attraction and distance, confidence and vulnerability, exhibition and intimacy.
The circus amplifies these tensions. Performance becomes seduction. Discipline becomes spectacle. Risk becomes part of the pleasure of looking.
Yet these figures are not presented simply as bodies to be consumed. Each performer inhabits his own act and controls the terms under which he becomes visible.
The result sits between vintage circus mythology and contemporary queer imagination, an arena in which masculinity can be theatrical, vulnerability can be powerful and desire is allowed to take centre stage.
Under the big top, nothing is entirely safe. That is precisely why everyone keeps watching.
