Every time the boy he loved reached for his hand, Eitan pulled away.
At nineteen, on a beach at sunset, fear of being watched was stronger than the desire to be visible. Then the person beside him stood up and said, “I don't want to be your secret.”
Eitan watched him walk away before running after him. At the water's edge, without explanation, he took his hand.
The stares did not disappear. Neither did the fear.
But Eitan did not let go again.
Metamorphosis begins when love becomes stronger than fear.
